Part of the prestigious Iberostar Group of hotels, the 4 star Aparthotel Royal Playa de Palma has an enviable front line location, overlooking the sea front promenade and wide sandy beach in the lively resort of Playa de Palma on the central southern coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 8km east of the capital Palma, 3km south east of the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1980 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 1995, the modern Aparthotel Royal Playa de Palma has a total of 157 guest rooms, including 15 standard twin rooms and a further 142 one bedroom self catering apartments and studio flats, all of which are built over 7 floors and set amidst almost 300m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, mini bar, satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the magnificent Bay of Palma.

In addition to the above features, both apartments and studio flats at the Aparthotel Royal Playa de Palma also have an open plan kitchenette with electric cooking rings and refrigerator, along with a combined lounge/dining room with additional sofa beds, and all guest rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals with high speed WiFi access available in selected areas of the hotel, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a children's playground and mini club, as well as a smaller indoor heated swimming pool, which is open during the cooler winter months.

Guests staying at the Aparthotel Royal Playa de Palma are also welcome to use the sporting and leisure facilities at the nearby Aparthotel Royal Cristina, which includes two hard surface tennis courts and a multi sports activity area for football and volleyball etc.

Of special interest to cyclists, the Aparthotel Royal Cristina also has a specially adapted area for storing, maintaining and repairing bicycles, which is equipped with individual security fittings, as well as a selection of basic cleaning and repair tools. Also based at the hotel is the "Diana Sportreisen" organisation, which offers guests guided cycling tours of the island 4 times a week, which have five different levels of difficulty and are accompanied by both German and English speaking guides. Also for those visitors who wish to cycle alone, they also offers a special road map of Majorca, with recommended tracks and elevation diagrams.

Other leisure facilities at the Aparthotel Royal Cristina includes the large and well equipped Thai Zen Space Spa and Wellness Center, offering guests a variety of cosmetic and beauty treatments including a heated salt-water indoor pool with various water-massage mechanisms, saunas, Turkish bath, massage cabins, shower jet and underwater massage baths, sponge bath therapy, inhalation cabin and aromatherapy, diet programmes and medical consultations.

The Aparthotel Royal Playa de Palma also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
