The 4 star Hotel Cristobal Colon is situated around 200 metres from the beach in the quiet Las Maravillas district of the otherwise lively resort of Playa de Palma on the central southern coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 8km east of the capital Palma, 3km south east of the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1971 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2001/02, the Hotel Cristobal Colon has a total of 158 guest rooms, including 152 twin rooms and a further 6 singles, which are built over 6 floors, and set amidst 100m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, hairdryer and cosmetic mirror, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, radio, safety deposit box available for rental, a fire detection system which is controlled from the reception, and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a smaller indoor heated pool, two bicycle garages and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Cristobal Colon also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

In recognition of the high standards of customer care and management systems, the Hotel Cristobal Colon has been awarded the internationally recognised Spanish Tourism Quality Institute Q quality mark which is only granted to establishments which meet the highest standards of continuous improvement in all services.
