Part of the Grupotel Group of hotels, the 3 star Hotel Orient is situated around 500 metres from the beach in the lively resort of Playa de Palma on the central southern coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 12km east of the capital Palma, 7km south east of the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Built in 1971 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2007, the modern Hotel Grupotel Orient has a total of 273 guest rooms, including 246 twin rooms and a further 27 singles, which are built over 7 floors and set amidst 1,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a daily maid service is also provided undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Grupotel Orient also offers the use of a large air conditioned conference and meeting room, seating a maximum of 70 people, which is equipped with a selection of modern audio visual aids.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with integrated children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground, along with a smaller indoor heated pool with hydro massage and a Jacuzzi.

Guests staying at the Hotel Grupotel Orient are also welcome to use the leisure facilities at the nearby Hotel Grupotel Taurus Park, which includes an additional indoor heated pool with sauna, Turkish bath and gymnasium.

The Hotel Grupotel Orient also provides a seasonal programme of evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
