Hotel Sol Barbados - Magaluf

Part of the prestigious Sol Melia Group of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Sol Barbados is situated in a slightly elevated position in one of the quieter areas of the otherwise lively resort of Magaluf on the south west coast of Majorca.

The hotel has direct access to the wide sandy resort beach and is approximately 25km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and 800 metres from the Magaluf resort centre where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Built in 1970 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2015, the modern Hotel Sol Barbados has a total of 428 guest rooms, which are built over 12 floors and set amidst almost 10,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the magnificent Bay of Palma.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either centrally heated or air conditioned according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, complimentary high speed WiFi internet access, a satellite television with international channels, a mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, a number of guest rooms at the Hotel Sol Barbados have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large lagoon style swimming pool for adults, with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with sun loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities includes a multi sports activity area, suitable for five a side football and volleyball etc, along with a children's playground.

The Hotel Sol Barbados also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment, with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

Guests staying at the Hotel Sol Barbados will also receive a complimentary Sol Katmandu Fun Pass, which will give discounted entry to the nearby Sol Katmandu Park and Golf Fantasia along with a special taxi fare of only 1€ per person each way from participating Sol Hotels.

During the summer months, alongside the numerous adult activities, the resident Sol Animation team also provide themed children's clubs with the Baby Club suitable for 0 to 4 years, the Mini Club for 5 to 12 year olds, and the Teen Club from 13 to 17 years. Guests are advised that some activities will carry a supplementary charge payable locally.
