Part of the prestigious Sol Melia Group of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Sol Katmandu Resort is situated around 250 metres from the beach and pedestrianised promenade, in the lively resort of Magaluf on the south west coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 25km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and 50 metres from the resort centre, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Built in 1973 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2015, the modern Hotel Sol Katmandu Resort has a total of 422 guest rooms, including 364 standard twin rooms and a further 58 singles, which are built over 10 floors, and set amidst almost 2,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, hairdryer and cosmetic mirror, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television, ceiling fan, and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area.

In addition to the above features, 5 guest rooms at the Hotel Sol Katmandu Resort have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, with high speed WiFi access available in selected areas, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Sol Katmandu Resort also offers the use of two large air conditioned conference and meeting rooms, seating a maximum of 100 people, both of which are equipped with a selection of the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment including screens, overhead projectors and a microphone.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini-club, along with a smaller indoor heated pool, which is open each year from the end of October until April, and both pool and table tennis tables.

From 10am to 6pm each day, guests staying at the Hotel Sol Katmandu Resort can also enjoy free and unlimited access to the adjacent Katmandu theme park , which features an enormous, upside-down Tibetan-style mansion, an 18 hole mini golf course and Desperados Wild West town.
