Part of the prestigious Sol Melia Group of hotels, the 5 star rated Hotel Melia de Mar is situated on a secluded rocky headland overlooking the magnificent Bay of Palma, in the exclusive resort of Illetas on the south west coast of Majorca.

The hotel is approximately 10km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and 500 metres from the resort centre where you will find a selection of restaurants, bars and shops.

Built in 1964 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2015, the modern Hotel Melia de Mar has a total of 142 guest rooms, including 133 Deluxe twin rooms, 3 Junior Suites and a further 8 Grand Suites, which are built over 7 floors, and set amidst almost 18,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area overlooking the sea.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower cubicle, hairdryer and magnifying mirror, along with a satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, high speed WiFi internet access, a mini-bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have spectacular views over the pool and garden area towards the sea.

In addition to the above features, 3 Deluxe twin rooms at the Hotel Melia de Mar have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all guest rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required, and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms with showers for late departures, along with a choice of air conditioned à la carte restaurants and snack bars with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals with WiFi access available in selected areas, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

For business guests, the Hotel Melia de Mar also offers the use of 6 large air conditioned conference and meeting rooms, seating a maximum of 200 people, all of which are fully equipped with a selection of the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment including high speed WiFi Internet access.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, with spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include an open-air Jacuzzi and floodlit tennis court with artificial grass.

Guests staying at the Hotel Melia de Mar also have the opportunity to relax and unwind at the hotels' own Yhi Spa and Wellness Centre, which features a further indoor heated swimming pool with hydromassage, along with a sauna, cardiovascular gymnasium, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and aroma showers, as well as offering guests a variety of other cosmetic and beauty treatments.

Please be aware that the Hotel Melia de Mar is an "Adults Only" hotel and that all guests must be aged 18 or over at the time of arrival
