Hotel Sol Palmanova - Palma Nova

Part of the prestigious Sol Melia Group of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Sol Palmanova is situated around 120 metres from the beach, in one of the quieter areas of the otherwise lively resort of Palma Nova on the south west coast of Majorca.

The hotel is approximately 25km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and 250 metres from the centre of the resort, where you will find a wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Built in 1971 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2014, the modern Hotel Sol Palmanova has a total of 668 guest rooms, including 638 standard twin rooms and a further 30 singles, which are distributed between 2 nine storey buildings, and set amidst 600m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either centrally heated or air conditioned according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television, ceiling fan and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area.

In addition to the above features, a daily maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, laundry and medical services, public internet terminals, a games room, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a choice of two large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, with separate children's splash pools, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground along with both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Sol Palmanova also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment, with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

From May to the end of October each year, the Hotel Sol Palmanova is a Flintstones themed hotel and during this time is especially popular with families travelling with young children.

Guests staying at the Hotel Sol Palmanova will also receive a complimentary Sol Katmandu Fun Pass, which will give discounted entry to the nearby Sol Katmandu Park and Golf Fantasia along with a special taxi fare of only 1€ per person each way from participating Sol Hotels.

During the summer months, alongside the numerous adult activities, the resident Sol Animation team also provide themed children's clubs with the Baby Rock Club suitable for 0 to 4 years, the Bam Bam Club for 5 to 10 year olds, the Cool Club 10 to 14 years and the Teen Club from 14 to 17 years. Guests are advised that some activities will carry a supplementary charge payable locally.
